I followed these instructions to make my kombucha:
http://www.foodrenegade.com/how-to-b...tation-method/
I followed everything perfectly, until it came to adding the juice and doing the second fermentation, I didn't realize I was supposed to leave the closed bottles on the counter for 48 hrs to ferment. I put them in the fridge thinking they would ferment there, and then I opened one a week later (I had gone out of town for 10 days).
The kombucha was sweet, not sour. It also wasn't fizzy at all! I was dissapointed and didn't realize what I had done wrong until I checked the page again. So, I'm wondering if I can salvage it at this point?
If I take them out of the fridge and put them on the counter, will they still ferment, or did I kill it? OR, should I dump them all back into the big jar and add my SCOBY back to it? Or will the juice in the tea hurt the SCOBY?
Hmmm.. anyone been here before?
I was SO looking forward to drinking my tea!!!
Thanks
