Your five favorite books. - Page 5

Thread Starter
I'm so glad this thread is still going because my list-of-bboks-to-read is dwindling. Great recommendations here! I haven't read any books recently that would crack my top 5, but I think The Book Thief would be the closest. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest was pretty good too...

I'll play! Books that I've read and reread over the years:

Our Mutual Friend--I love C Dickens and this is my favorite. Rereading it now, in fact.
Gone With The Wind love the characters, love the book
A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth
Moo or any of Jane Smiley's work but that's my fave.
The Poisonwood Bible really any BK except for Bean Eaters, couldn't get into it at all.

A lot of mine were already mentioned, but I will add:

Winter's Tale by Mark Helprin and (if you like sci-fi) the Star of the Guardians series by Margaret Weis.

I will add The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time by Mark Hadden.

My DF and I are both prolific readers, but read very different types of fiction. He is into sci-fi and fantasy, and I am into.... well, everything but those two genres. This book and the Harry Potter series are the only books we have ever BOTH read and enjoyed.
