It took a few days for me to actually more than a tiny piece come out. Once it did then I became more regular again though I am still taking softners bc of the OBs cut and tearing. 1 day I went 5 times I think.

With DD it took a few days, and then it was painful and only every other day for the first week or so. I didn't take anything with her, and I know that I wasn't drinking enough either. This time I have the softeners already and a whole case of Gatorade on hand. I really would like to avoid the pain!!!

I had a c-section and I didn't have one until almost a week pp. I was taking stool softeners as I had some mega hemorroids (at least they felt mega!).

I had a c section and it was about a week before I went again too. I keep getting constipated despite the stool softeners. I'm also on iron pills though so I think they're just evening each other out and not really helping loosen anything.

I had one right after having him, once I got set up in the mommy/baby ward. However, I've had some...er...constipation issues since having him so I got something to take for home b/c I'm still not feeling great in my abdomen as far as straining, etc. goes. TMI, sorry!

I think it took me about 2 days? I ate tons of fresh/frozen fruit that first week. I couldn't get enough. I may have been a bit too loose a couple of times. LOL
After that, I've regulated out pretty well. Now I just have the problem of getting a chance to actually get into the bathroom.

My midwife told me that your digestive system slows down for birth, so it's normal to take some time to get back to your usual self; she also said drink lots of fluids (something I'm struggling with). I haven't had more than a few BMs since Julian was born, and I'm just not worrying about it; I feel fine so far...

I've gone twice since last Friday....I've been using stool softeners. It hurts to "push" it, and the softeners make it easier.
