flakey scalp

ok, i am cursed with flakes. i went to a salon to get my hair cut not too long ago, and the stylist told me that i do not, in fact have dandruff. if it did, it would be itchy and different in other ways that i don't remember at the moment.

nonetheless, i have flakes. i cannot seem to get rid of them. i oil my scalp sometimes, i have tried a dandruff shampoo (too the horror of my hair) and yet the flakes continue on.

it almost seems as if the problem is that my hair is so thick that they are trapped at my scalp. when i wash my hair, all it managed to do is lift them off of my scalp and toss them around in my roots. if i rinse my hair in the tub instead of the shower, i have slightly better sucess, but not by much.

so - any ideas?

i would love to learn how to be flake-free

Aubrey Organics has some good, natural scalp treatment shampoos. Try Selenium Blue or Calaguala Fern & Cade Tar.
