Too young for chicken pox?

My friend is getting a chicken pox vaccine and warned me because she doesn't want DS to catch it. Is it possible for DS to catch the chicken pox from my friend? DS is only 8 months old, so I thought he was too young to get it. I would like him to have natural immunity to it though. What are your thoughts?

There is a small chance he could get it from being around a recently vaccinated child since it is a live virus vaccine. I wouldn't take any special precautions if it were me. If he were to get it 8 months is not too young IMO.

My dd was 9-10 months (can't remember exactly) when she caught chicken pox from a girl at daycare who had just gotten vaccinated. It was a mild case and didn't seem to bother her at all. Now we have a medical exemption against that shot since I had documented proof she had cp already.
