Let's Go Raw!!!! - Page 6

Mmm. That reminds me that I was going to make some flax crackers tonight. I should pick up some tomato and avocado to put on it. Red onion and lettuce would taste great with it too.

I did well yesterday except for a couple bites of sourdough bread. : Here's to being back on track.

I've probably managed to be 75% raw lately. To me that feels like a failure but I guess 75% is better than 0%!
Thank You!

Mmmm ladies. These used to be my fav quickie sandwiches. Avo, red o, sprouts, cuke, tomato, sea salt and pepper on flax crackers or dehydrated onion bread. I would eat that a few times per week at least! :

Anyone staying raw thru winter? I've been on and off raw since Spring but right now I have a strong desire to eat raw and have been full raw for 2 weeks. I have a lot of weight to lose, and right now its really feeling good to eat raw.

I am going to go make a warm soup in my Vita-mix. I have only made a soup a couple of times so I need to do some practice with that. I have been enjoying hot herbal teas and don't plan to give those up.

I am still doing 80-90% raw but as it gets colder I do feel like warm lentils and quinoa more often.
I haven't had great luck with warm soups in my vitamix yet. I did make a warm green smoothie last week that was ok.

I plan on staying mostly raw through winter. I did it last winter and felt great! But then again I started my raw journey in late August of last year. Kale, Cayenne and warm blended stuff are my mainstay's. In fact I was really wanting sweet potato's the other day so I threw together Bridget Mars' "Sweet Potato Soup."

Amazing and SOOO EASY!

I love The Raw Freedom Community's forum for recipe's! They have a raw cheeze-it recipe that's to live for and AMAZING deserts and soups oh and Chili that is the best chili I have EVER had! We had it for our holiday meals last winter (and everything else)!! And if you want the sweet tater soup just DM me! I'm happy to share! I also love Matt Amsden's onion bread recipe.

I drink a warm nut/seed milk based elixir every morning and warm tea as well! Try to include nettle tea in my elixir to get all those minerals!

Wow - all those recipes sound amazing. I'm going to check out that forum.

I made flax pizza crust and have been using it for everything. I can't believe how much delicious food I have been eating - all raw! And so easy to put together too. I'm borrowing my mom's dehydrator right now and realize how much its helped me having those pizza crusts. I had the ultimate test last night when my dh brought back from a trip a whole Gino's pizza from Chicago! I made my LIVE pizza and no problem.

The key - drink my greens and my cravings stay in check. I didn't really want the Gino's pizza - all I could think about is how much I would ache if I ate that.

I've been off raw for a while due to moving. I'm trying to get back to it but I am really missing fresh organic produce. The only grocery store here has a tiny produce section, no organic anything, a few really green bananas but everything else is so old. Soft apples, mushy grapefruits, old dried out celery, yellow broccoli. No spinach or kale. I will be so glad when we move 2 hrs west in a week. The store there is much better!

Loving this thread!! Currently DH and I are trying to eat at least 50% raw starting yesterday. I have been having some estrogen/progesterone balance issues and from my research it looks like diet change is the number one thing for me to focus on. We have had green smoothies for breakfast (spinach, strawberries, banana, and mango), almonds for snacks, hummus in romaine for lunch, and fish w/a salad for dinner. I know during the work week it will be harder, but we are going to go slowly and be gentle with ourselves I'm hoping this will straighten out my cycles as we have been trying for #1 for about a year now.

I hope it helps indianagrl. It seems tohave really helped me. I have regular cycles for the first time in my life plus my AF is short w/ no cramps. I'm going to have my hormones rechecked in January.

Well today was fun. I cooked and uncooked all day today. : ) I made up breakfast burrittos and chili (both cooked) for my family and the freezer. I spent time making almond milk, sourdough crackers (using the pulp from the milk), "butter" with pine nuts, tortilla chips (with raw corn), cilantro dressing, peanut sauce (for dinner over spiraled zucchini noodles plus I have some leftover). I think that is it.

I'll be set all week with yummy options so I feel satisfied. I have had very little cravings and I think its all about planning. AND green juice! I've switched to drinking kale, apple, and lemon juiced in the morning.

Just thought I would bump this thread and see how everyone is doing.

I need to get motivated to try out a warm soup in my Vita-mix. I've made them before but never been thrilled with the results.

I would love to do this!!! But would like to start out slowly....maby 50% RAW. I have been researching this for such a long time...and have been thinking and even talking to hubby about doing this! I would also like to get my kiddos 50% RAW as well. Any good kiddie recipes?

I never did get a vitamix. I researched it a lot but couldn't see spending that much money on myself plus I don't know a non membership brick and mortar store that sells them. I've just been blending my green smoothies a little longer in my oster.

I am trying to get back to 100% raw after a few months off. I've had a lack of energy, digestive issues, moodiness, delayed ovulation and multiple back aches; all symptoms of eating cooked food. I want to feel vibrant again!

Hello all! I've finally moved to an almost raw diet. The only think cooked I'm eating right now is roasted cashew butter on apples. Yumm! I am so excited and feel great. I also splurged and got an Excalibur dehydrator to make some goodies and dry nuts.
