Project Runway

Anyone know the scoop on this show? I know after the last season they said it wasn't going to air on Bravo anymore and I thought I heard it had moved to another station. Is this true? What station? Why? They have that new show with Isaac Mizrahi which seems similar and I am wondering what happened...I LOVED PR!

I think it has moved to Lifetime, and will start sometime in August. I searched for press releases in a while so it might have changed again.

I really hate the new knockoff show.

i hate the knockoff, too.

"We're not buying it."

"You're hanging by a thread."

Worst catch phrases EVER! I don't know how anyone can say it with a straight face.

I think I only made it through 15 minutes of the new show before I had to change the channel.

But why the switch to Lifetime...the ratings were great and has a large fan base...anyone know the story on that?

Thanks for the info on Lifetime...

I think when a contract is up other networks can bid on it? Either that or Heidi wanted more $$ and Lifetime was willing to pay....all I know is they have already shot another season but this was tied up in court forever. I am just glad it's back because that other knockoff is SOOOO bad

I'm just like the rest of you - I couldn't get through a single episode of the knock-off. It definitely does not come close to being as good as Project Runway.

Glad to finally have a date for it to premiere! I'm looking forward to it!

The cable contract for the show was up, and the company that created the show took a better offer from Lifetime than what Bravo had been paying. Bravo/NBC sued because they were supposed to have right of first refusal for new seasons of the show. They filmed the new season long ago despite the ongoing legal issues, and there was a period of time when it looked like the lawsuits were going to keep it from ever airing on either network, but the parties involved reached a settlement this spring that allowed the show to air on Lifetime.

While the Fashion Show (Bravo replacement) isn't bad, IMO, it just utterly lacks the charm and humor that only the divine Tim Gunn can provide.

i've been watching The Fashion Show... I don't hate it... it's no PR though...

I'm only on the 2nd episode LOL

I caught the one (one of the ones?) in which several of the designers were going on about how they're designers, not seamstresses, and pretty much know nothing about how to put a garment together.

They cast multiple designers who don't know how to sew for a show in which the designers need to sew their own garments? Lame.
that's the one I watched last night - the 2nd one... I have 2 more on my dvr still.

How they could have come on this show without knowing the needed to sew was ridiculous... haven't they watched a single episode of project runway before they auditioned??

I liked what Issac Mizrachi said - you can't just write recipes without cooking...

The sewing requirement should have been obvious. It's like going on The Amazing Race and being shocked that you have to know how to drive manual transmission.

Does anyone know when it starts showing in Canada? The last one wasn't shown in Canada till it was over in the USA, so I had to avoid all the messageboard threads...
