Budget software for Mac?

Does anyone know of good software for iMac that can help me with a budget for our family? Currently, I don't watch any of the money coming in or out... just spend what we have to, pretty much get whatever we want. But I want to try to do better. Is there something I can use on the Mac that would be EASY (not very computer savvy) and help me keep track of money better?

I have a couple of Excel sheets I use to track spending and plan our budget. I would happy to email them to you. You can PM me your email addy if you're interested.

I personally don't like the things like Quicken and MS Money, because I find them too complicated. I just want to track our income and outgo. I want to forget about our savings, , so I don't like seeing that available money at a glance in those budgeting programs.

I got a checkbook spreadsheet from Consumerist a couple years ago, and it's the only period in history where I haven't overdrawn my checking account. It's so simple, but it works for me.

I am waiting for the new Quicken Financial Life for Mac to come out this summer

I use the numbers program from iwork. I have been really happy with it, it has a template for family budgets and has been keeping us on track.

If you search for "free budget template mac" a bunch will pop up that you can use with Numbers. Or Google Docs. I have always found budget software overrated and expensive, so I just use a basic budget spreadsheet.

The numbers program in iWork '09 is great. It has all kinds of spreadsheets you could use.

I use Quicken, a really old version of Quicken a previous boss purchased for me in order to work from home doing bookkeeping for her small business. Then she upgraded me to QuickBooks for her biz. I may have been working at a nearby client's office at that point, though. In any case, I didn't keep that program because it was overkill for our family finances. I like Quicken well enough, but often export to Excel in order to manipulate the appearance of the data (formal reports)... mostly condensing it down to one sheet. I really dislike the way Quicken does full reports because it is so wasteful with paper and margins. What I like most about Quicken are the auto-downloads from our financial institution and "Quick Reports" for easy-to-see quick answers.

ETA: I left out the fact that I do our finances on a Mac and use Quicken for Macs. I believe it is the 2002 or 2003 software.

I've heard nothing but wonderful things about mint.com.

DH does our books on his Mac using a program called "Gnucash." He downloaded it free off the Internet.

I have been lusting after that program but it seems to only be available in the US

Right now I use pearbudget.com, i've tried a few different things and even though this one is very simplistic it's the only one i like so far. my main complaint is that i haven't figured out how to deal with regular savings that aren't in a 12 month period... ie I need to save 400 by october but it only lets me enter in how much I want to save in 2009. i wish i had one that would work with my online banking, like mint, and show me cool pie charts as well as that awesome feature that shows you if you're on your way to going over your budget in each of your categories.

i tried numbers and i just don't like how i have to deal with all the spreadsheets and redo everything over and over and figure out how to do all the calculations myself. maybe i'm just not doing it right. but i dont tend to like spreadsheets.
