Anyone have suggestions on things to do to pass the time...

I am uncomfy and trying to keep positive and busy and just let baby grow and my body do it's thing, but I am so tired. Any words of wisdom or ideas of what to do to pass time?

At the top of my list - take a nap. Seriously, I love to nap right now and I'm not much of a nap taker, usually.

Second, I play in the yard with my son - when the weather gets really hot we play in the water.

And, third, if I have the luxury of time and am not feeling like a nap I love to read.

It is already summer vacation here so we try to plan one mini-trip per week to keep us busy and give us something to look forward to. It can be as little as a trip to the park, the beach or as cool as a trip to the aquarium. Staying busy is key!

I hsould mention I am without a CAR. LOL

DP needs it for work. So we usually do our outings on the weekends (usually every other when he has his little ones).

I took Abrielle on a bus trip today (she saw a show with a bus and asked). She didn't enjoy it at all at first, but we did go to MC Donalds and the craft store and she got some colored pencils, which she LOVED...

We walk a lot. And I am learning to sew and quilt, which can take up too much time.

I was going to suggest public transportation outings. We have a car, but we also have a free trolley that runs past our neighborhood. DS loooves to ride it.

Do you have a patio for sidewalk chalk/paint? That's pretty fun.

OOO chalk... We could totally do that! She usually does it on our porch while I hang laundry or water the herbs, but I could totally play with her.

I was cross stitching, but I find taking care of the house totally consuming as of right now. It takes me so long to do ANYTHING...

We do go for walks around the neighborhood.

Yup. My family is being nice about it, but I am slooooow. The hotter it gets, the slower I become.

One more thing. We got a nice-sized baby pool for DS, but I like to lounge in it with him. Any time I can play with him and sit at the same time is good.

I bought a family-sized inflatable kid's pool, it was WAY worth the $30. I can sit in it for an hour a day and it really helps keep me cool (no a/c).

I'm also learning to sew. We go out to the local parks a lot. I have a gardren, which is great for passing time. I spend at least 2 days a week with my best friend, which really helps me feel connected to other adults and is good for my well-being. Hmm.. I cook, clean, take pictures, plan little summer trips, go to garage sales, take walks, and do art projects with my 5 year old.. I'm sure there's more, but that's mostly what I do.

I find that on days when I am wiped out and I just need something to look forward to, a great tv show is sometimes all that helps the day to pass. I am totally into sappy shows like the bachelorette. I watch alot more tv when I am pregnant for some reason.

As for the pool, I got a $7 one from Taret that works great, and once it gets hot here I will beach myself in it. Our main level is on the second floor, so to get to the back yard you have to walk down the stairs (not going to happen!), so I got this pool so that it was small enough to fit on our back deck.
Here is a video of it.

We also have the sand/water tray from Target, which takes up a ton of ds's time-he still loves it after two years.

We have tried to plan a lot. I have a trip with ds to my family for a week. A baby shower, a bridal shower for a friend, then special projects we will do on the weekend with dh. And then we make sure we plan one playdate a week, and we'll stop at different stores ds likes when we are out and about-the snake store, home depot, etc...

My mom will come early to help me through the last week. We are going tot he water park, probably go shopping, and I am not sure what else she has planned. I would really love to make a quilt with her for this baby while she is here.

Are you a part of any mom's groups in the area? That is always a huge help, plus you can make new friends.

Stacey- As for moms group, I have a really hard time fitting in at those. I am younger and tend to not fit in with the more natural or holistic mommies, although I do try to go to my midwifes get togethers and meet some of her other clients and talk. I am not sure how to fit in really, I guess. I tend to have a hard time with social scenes. Bi- Polar disorder really inhibits me from having normal relationships with other people. I tend to be very to myself. I tend to feel better alone because I spent most of my child hood alone or being ridiculed.

I feel like I bother or annoy most people. I don't know how else to explain it, but it's lonely.

I do love crafty projects and a water park sounds like so much fun.

I am also planning my wedding for next May and that is taking some of my time.

Thanks everyone for suggestions! The rice/beans project sounds fun and I never thought of a water/sand table. I could put that out on the deck. I just need a comfy chair! LOL

Mothering is doing that scavenger hunt thing. But half the questions are hard if not impossible to find answers to and some of them are stupid trick questions. I got annoyed partway through and gave up on it.

I dunno...I like to garden or watch tv.
