do you get dressed?

I find I rarely actually dress myself when I am home with the kiddo. Even if we are going to the neighborhood park I probably wear the same sweats or I even have some comfy dress/nightgown things that I wear.....
Am I alone? Is this weird and terrible? DO I need to start dressing myself? I don't want to set a bad example for dd!

While I was pregnant, my fashion standards relaxed a lot. Now, as a mom, I tend to dress pretty slouchy. I wear sweats a lot. I try to comb my hair when I go out, and I wear a bra in public. And I try to wear clothes that look clean enough.
Kinda sad, huh? But no one seems to notice what I'm wearing. And my daughter looks really cute, no matter how I dress her. I let her wear her favorite jammies as day clothes. Why not? They're comfy, they even match!

For me, getting dressed signals the start of the day. If I stay in sweats (my nightgown isn't approprate to wear outside of the bedroom , my mind is in "end of the day/downtime" mode instead of "let's get going" mode. Nothing gets done, not housework, not work, not even dealing with the kids.

I like to be dressed although my style is very casual. My biggest issue is crashing in my clothes instead of getting my PJ's on

Nope. We only get dressed to leave or entertain certain company. We don't own pajamas, we put on clean tanks or tees and undies after baths at bedtime and put on clean shorts in the morning. I was tired of ending up with all of our good clothes stained or dirty when we needed to leave.

I prefer to get dressed...i hate feeling "frumpy"...it makes me feel unmotivated and depressed. I usually put on jammies pretty early though (around 7pm-ish?), so if DH isn't getting home until then - chances are i MIGHT just take a shower and put on clean jammies, although I still do my hair/makeup - look cute for him

If we have no where to go, I'm usually in my pj's. We live in a very rural area, so I can go outside in my pajamas without anyone seeing me

Clothes Around the House

I mostly wear yoga pants, and comfy shirts... sometimes the t-shirt I slept in I'll put on jeans and a nicer shirt to go to the store or the mall, but I don't specifically put on fresh clothes in the morning when I get up. They'd just get dirty in 8 seconds and then I'd have to find something else to put on if we were going somewhere.

I like to get dressed

Granted, most of my clothes are comfy: leggings, tee shirts, dresses and the likes...but still, I make it out of my jammies and into some version of this everyday. I even try to shower! Granted it's with my toddler, but it does make me feel better.

Yes, I get dressed everyday. Jeans and a t-shirt, but still. I can't seem to get going with my day properly until I have real clothes on.

Me, too! When I don't get dressed, I feel down and depressed. Getting dressed every day helped me through postpartum depression, as well as leaving the house at least once per day.

not always. Of course, if I am going somewhere, I do put real clothes on.

Sometimes I get dressed, sometimes I don't. My DD is almost 6 now, but we're homeschoolers so we really only get dressed when we are going out. That said, DD will sometimes choose to wear her PJ's when going out, even after I get dressed. Other times, she will get all dressed up (she likes to accessorize) even though I'm dressed plainly. Occaisionally, I'll get dressed up a bit if I feel like I want to look pretty.

How's that for a non-committal answer?

ETA: DD just got dressed and we're not going anywhere.

Some days I wear my nightgown most of the day. If we're going out, I wear shorts/jeans/sweats and a t-shirt. I'm probably pretty "frumpy", but that doesn't bother me at all. It's actually one of the fringe benefits of being a SAHM. I'm not into fashion, and hate spending money on clothes. I like throwing on whatever's comfortable, and I hate worrying about how I look. I had to dress to a certain standard for years when I had an office job, and I'm SO happy not to have to do that, anymore.

I used to wear DH's sweats but it drove him bonkers and there was no way I was getting fully dressed (jeans, nice shirts, make-up) just to clean and cook and tend to my babies. So, I compromised and found a happy medium. I wear yoga pants, capris, boxers, camis and tees (maybe a hoodie if it's cold). All are comfy, all fit well and I always match. Of course, it's not unusual to find me lounging in my footed jammies either

I usually wear jammies (sweats, jammie pants or yoga pants) and a t-shirt. I do not wear bras at home.

I like being comfy, ready for a snuggle on the bed and cool. I also have more of these cheap clothes available to change into if I get dirty.

I do dress to go to the park, grocery store, whatever.

I'm a WOHM, but on my days off, I usually wear yoga pants and a t-shirt. Unless we're going out to dinner, that's what I'll wear out and about too.

Sometimes I think "Maybe I should look a little more presentable." But that thought quickly passes without me taking any action!

I always change my clothes after getting up but it's nothing extravagant, usually just a tee or tank and some jeans. DS may stay in sleep clothes during the day as long as they're clean and if we're not going anywhere.

I try to get up and showered before the kids wake up. If not, the bouncy seat comes in handy for the baby. Usually, if not working, I wear jeans and a plain-colored t-shirt or sweater in the winter and running shoes. Clothes that allow me to get down with my kids and not worry about mussing them up. Unless I'm actually planning to go somewhere, then I dress accordingly. If going to work, I've got a uniform for that.

I don't think it's weird.

But I personally feel horrible staying in my jammies. Maybe I just need a clear, defined start to my day or something. But if I dont' get fully dressed, hair up, and make my bed, something just feels "off" the whole day.
