Any Hypnobabies mamas here?

I got my course, but haven't started it yet. Anyone else doing this program? Where are you in the program, and how is it going?

I am 29 weeks, and planning to start tomorrow. I think i still have lots of tome - 5 weeks for the course, and 5 weeks for practice.

I am doing a refresher but only made it through disc 2 last time. I kept falling asleep. This time I have even less time to practice but I have been trying to do at least once a week. Skimmed though disc 1 and now working on #2.

Me me!!! I'm a slacker though....I make sure to listen to a hypno session and the affirmations every night....er...um...as I fall asleep lol. I'm through the "making a birth plan" section in the workbook so I think that's lesson 4? Slowly but surely getting there. I just hope they're serious about your mind getting the info it needs even if you think you're asleep through the hypnosis session. There's just not enough time in the day! I'm pretty much always tired so if you let me sit down -whammo! I'm out! I have been practicing my finger drop technique any time I have a lil pain though. Maybe all my bits and pieces will fall together when the time comes. I sure hope so!

I'm doing it. I started early so I'm on lesson 4 now. I kept falling asleep too so I started listening to the CDs during the day while I was cleaning up or just playing with the kids so I could actually remember what was on them. I practice at night when the kids are in bed.

I started it around, errr... week 15 or 16? Mostly to address insomnia though, instead of as an active "review".

I used HypnoBabies for my last birth (VBAC!) and spaced the program out so I spent two weeks on each lesson for a total of ten weeks or active lessons followed by just a few weeks of review. I figured this time I'd just listen to the first 1-2 lessons for a full month each and then go to a two week/lesson format so that again I'd have just a few weeks of review and all that "insomnia busting" to boot!

I lost the workbooks some time in the last two years but that's ok (for me, since I don't need the consumer stuff, dh isn't involved in the hypno scripts, and I know the finger drop/center switch steps already). Now that I'm at 30 weeks I'm being a bit more active... I've added finger drops to my daily prenatal routine (that includes the BAKS basics from the Tupler Technique program, a belly dance routine that takes 20 minutes, and my kegels) and have been listening to the sessions in a more active manner at least 1-2 times (sitting on the birth ball) as well as putting them on while in bed.

Personally, I found that my hypnobabies birth wasn't discomfort free, but I would describe it as pain free. In the end, I combined hypnobabies with a mantra ("just pressure, just pressure, just pressure") during the birth but didn't do anything special for pushing... this time I'm going to remind dh and my doula to put on the pushing script when it's time.

I'm doing Hypnobabies, too! I'm 30 weeks and just finished lesson #4... I've been doing each one for two weeks so that I can get lots of practice in... and the first time I listen to each script, I try to do it without following the relaxation cues so I can stay awake... otherwise, I fall asleep.

I usually listen to my script for the day during DD's nap and then I listen to the affirmations at night. I have been having a hard time remembering to do my fingerdrops everyday though. I am good with the "off" switch, but "center" still feels a little tricky to me...

Count me in.... I'm doing Hypnobabies too. I started really early bc I thought I might be pretty resistant to the techniques and wanted to over practice the techniques. I am taking two weeks for each class, and am on lesson 5 right now.
I LOVE this program. I've used the peace cue a few times with great success when I've had hip, back, or belly pain... it simply erases it all away. WONDERFUL!!!! I am amazed at how quickly and easily the pains disappear. It seems to work better for me on sharp pains than on dull pains... maybe because it's easier to focus anesthesia on the spot?
Oh, and I'm so excited about this program for a totally different reason: I am a horrible flyer, and used a hypnosis CD for airplane travel... which helped, but I did a fear release and listened to a bunch of sessions on the plane flights which helped keep me CALM and relaxed in the middle of some very bumpy flights. I was really impressed with how relaxed I was, which in the same situation a year ago I had multiple panic/anxiety attacks on the flights. This time I was completely relaxed and calm. DH was very impressed, too, and has gone from being a casual bystander to actively wanting to help/ be my partner in the program.

Yup, me too. I'm on class 4 right now, but I'm doing them every 2 weeks instead of one. Spacing it out

AKKKK! Ok, now I feel really far behind!!! Do you think i should do each lesson for 2 weeks, and skip the practice time, or do you think I should stick to the one week schedule, and leave 5 weeks for practice... I am sure I won't hav e this baby early, both my others were at 42 weeks. SO, I have exactly 11 weeks, until I hit 40 weeks.

Help!

don't worry! those of us doing two weeks at a time started *really* early... you're right on track to do each class for a week and then do the maintenance... you'll go over everything you went over in the 5 weeks during the practice, so it's okay if you don't give it all two weeks! you're not behind!

You're not behind!

The first lesson really doesn't have a lot of "stuff to learn" in it... it just sort of primes the pump so to speak, getting you used to the self-hypnosis process and providing new ways of thinking about birth. I listened to it for a month or so this time just because it helped with insomnia, not because it had enough information to "require" that sort of time!

Starting with the second lesson and the introduction of the finger drop technique you may want to give it a week and then see how comfortable you feel with the finger drop. If you feel really confident that's great, but if not then you could continue with that lesson for another week. I feel really strongly that people should work through things at their own pace and with their own comfort/confidence in mind... so don't feel like you have to follow a specific timeline!

I am doing it too. Week 2 at 32 weeks.

BTW- They send you the workbook for a small fee if you contact them.

Does anyone know if I can download this somewhere? i would rather buy it to listen off my laptop at night. I don't even think we have a stereo anymore....

I think you need to buy physical CDs and materials. Most people burn them to ipods, etc. http://www.hypnobabies.com/store/sho...&cid=1&start=0

Actually, it looks like a lot of the CDs are available for download but perhaps not the entire package.

I'm enjoying hypnobabies! I started doing lesson one really early in pregnancy. I enjoyed the "special place" script and the affirmations. They were bright lights during a dark time. Now at 29 weeks I just started lesson 3 after spending a couple of weeks on lesson 2. The finger drop technique is really helpful for relaxing. I haven't yet mastered "the center switch" yet but am looking forward to it.

I'm also doing Tupler's "Maternal Fitness" physical exercises to help prepare my body for birthing and recovery.

I'm liking hypnobabies so far. I'm at the fear clearing session now but haven't tried it. I'm nervous. The disclaimer they give about needing to be with someone in case you have a negative reaction scares me I think I might try it this weekend when DH is home.

I used hypnobabies for my second birth and am just starting the program again for this birth. I love it! I am actually taking steps to become an instructor! Hypnobabies is amazing, it's a commitment but stick with it ladies!
I also use Tupler, very helpful!

About the fear release- that is for people who may have serious trauma come up, such as sexual abuse victims. The fear release involves watching your concerns come up on a screen in front of you and then letting them go.

That scared the pants off DH too. Plus, it sounds like, from reading it, that we both are supposed to do it together, but then DH was all freaked out that something would happen to me and he'd not know because he'd be doing his own thing. But we ended up doing it at the same time and it was fine. I don't know that it helped me so much though...I still have some of those fears. Guess I should do it over and over again.

I'm on week 2 (I'm 32 weeks)... I'm loving it so far. Seriously the best thing I have purchased in this whole pregnancy.
