One Size Diapers

This is probably a dumb question, but on one-size diapers, how do you adjust them to be the smallest size? I mean, how do you fold the top down? They never look folded outward in the pictures but it seems like the snaps would press into the baby's belly and hurt after a while. Is there a step-by-step picture tutorial somewhere that shows how to adjust them?

ok, even when i was holding a one size dipe in my hand it took me a while to figure it out. lol. you kind of fold the top snapping row of snaps down so the pul is being folded in on itself onto whatever row you need as a setting, but the soft fabric on the back is left in place. i am so sorry for that cruddy description LOL. it was harder to describe than i thought. maybe someone else will be better at explaining it to you!

Well, it depends on what style/brand of OS dipe you are using. I have 4 different types of OS dipes and they are all different. You can probably look on the website of the diaper you have for instructions.

If you are talking about pockets, usually the PUL layer folds inward so the flap would be inside of the pocket. With fitteds, you usually fold the top edge down to snap.

What brand are we talking, Jessica?

Most of the one size diapers adjust using a snap system on the front part of the diaper. You can see an example here: one size cloth diaper

They don't really press against the baby even in the smallest setting. They fold over on the inside of the diaper on the smallest setting and then on the largest setting, have no folds. Some have 3 snaps and some have 4. The ones with 4 tend to fit a wider range of babies.

There is also an internal leg adjustment system like in Rocky Mountain One Size diapers and Fuzzi Bunz one size. I really like these because they are a little less bulky on the front, but still adjust down really small.

Good question!

There are several different varieties of one size diapers, so it depends on what brand you are talking about. They can be a little confusing when you first see them, but they aren't really hard to use.
