DH does TONS of things around the house (cleaning, cooking, etc), but I do 90% or more of the household management (bill paying, knowing what's going on when, etc). I'm trying to make sure I'm leaving him well prepared to take over the management tasks for about a month or so, and leave us in a general position where I'm not forgetting important things (paying bills, picking up CSA share, etc).
So, I wrote up a whole word document with info on what bills get paid, how they get paid (online, automatic draft, paper bills), and when they're due (first or second half of month). Now I'm making a calendar of regular events that repeat weekly, biweekly, and monthly that I tend to just keep in my head.
Any other ideas? What are you doing to prepare for being physically and/or mentally incapable of managing your household?
