It isn't uncommon for an insurance company to claim they don't cover "homebirth" but then when they are billed for midwifery services with all the right codes, often they pay out. And in a way they are honest when they say they don't pay for "homebirth" as they don't pay a facility fee or anything, their payment is for the care the midwife gives and the tests and such.

How long ago was your birth? You might still be able to submit a claim to your insurance and see if you can get reimbursed.
