IUD and the Keeper???

Does anyone have an IUD and use the Keeper, Mooncup, or the Diva Cup? I have an IUD and would like an alternative to tampons and thought the Mooncup would be fab....but then I heard one can't use any of those devices with an IUD. I have plenty of time to figure this out as I don't expect AF for quite some time.....in fact, AF hasn't been around since 2001 for this gal! LOL!

TIA......Abby

I don't have time to search out the link, but I know I read on the Keeper's own Website that it cannot be used with an IUD because of the risk of accidentally removing or displacing the IUD when removing the Keeper. Sorry.

Do a search for sea pearls.

They are sponges so if you are vegan that may be out of the question.

I LOVE THEM! I cannot use a keeper but I do use sponges. They are inserted like a tampon and then you just take them out, rinse them and between cycles, you give them a soak in vinegar and water.

You can use the 2 set pack of sponges for 6 months at a time.

a set should cost you around $7. They are not NEVER buy again kinda things but they are really comfy (much more than a tampon) since they are soft and pliable and totally mold to your body.

I have heard that the keeper can "suck" the IUD out. OUCH!

Hey there..I finally got an answer for you. I do have an IUD and the keeper so this thread had me a bit concerned. I checked the Keeper site and couldn't find anything so I emailed them. This is the reply I got :

"The OB/GYN consultants, with whom we work, tell us woman with an I.U.D can in fact use The KEEPER. However, we always tell woman, they should consult with their own OB/GYN or healthcare provider."

Whew...though I was wonderining how it could be true. Why would it be any different than say a tampon (or penis )?

I use the Keeper and have an IUD, although I'm getting it taken out within a couple of weeks because of severe cramping mid-cycle. I did quite a bit of research on it and pretty much everything suggests that it is safe, as long as you make sure it is clean when you put it in and that you gently break the seal before pulling it out. I love mine and wouldn't think of using anything else now!

Yep, I have an IUD and a Keeper.

OT: I'm thinking of removing the IUD. I'd love another baby, but I might not do this anytime soon, because of $$$ worries, SIGH.
