Being induced tonight

It's 5pm here. They're inducing me in a couple of hours.

This means having bub in the maternity unit of the hospital, not in the Birth Centre, although I'll have my Birth Centre midwife with me at the hospital.

They decided today that my BP was far too high to let me go home, so whether I like it or not, this is how it's going to happen.

So we've come home for an hour or so now to collect my things and have dinner.

I'll try to update overnight if I can. I think it's more likely that I'll be spending the whole night crying though. I know - I'll finally get to meet our little man, but this just isn't how I wanted to do it, and it's going to take me a little bit to wrap my head around it.

Mama. I'm sorry things are not going how you had hoped. That is never easy! The only thing you can do now is try to make the best of it. I know, easier said than done.
I hope that you get to hold your LO soon.

I'm so sorry . I know how you feel about accepting something different than you want for birth. Holding your LO will make a lot of it better but some feelings are just still there.

Sorry to hear about the induction. I hope all goes well. I too know the feeling of not getting the birth you wanted (my boys) but LO will be in your arms very soon. Look forward to hearing about healthy baby and Mama.

Sorry to hear... I had to have pitocin, IVs, all the things I didn't want, so I know how disappointing it is... but what birth goes as expected anyway? It will happen the way it's meant to happen, all you can do is what you have to do.

Just keep your mind on meeting your precious son soon, both of you being healthy and happy. You can do it.

Thanks girls. Just hanging around the hospital now. Updating quickly on the phone. They've given me two rounds of prostin gel. If labour hasn't started in 3 hours time they'll either give me one more or break my waters if they can.

So far I've been bored crazy, had a few pains, and thrown up in my breakfast

Knowing you're all there waiting is big comfort!

The pains are good..That means something is happening. Just hope yours doesn't come like mine did..I was having pains on top of pains.

I threw up too. Twice.

You can do this! I'm thinking positive for you. Don't feel defeated..By this time tomorrow you will be holding your baby. I've got my snuggle monster sleeping on my chest right now, and whenever I think of how I wish I didn't have to induce, I look at his little face and forget all about me, it's all about him.
