Kissaluvs doubler/soaker - which side touches baby?

OK, this is probably kind of a dumb question...

I'm using prefolds & covers, and I just bought a couple of Kissaluvs doublers/soakers to put in the prefold at night (now that we've reached the stage where he doesn't poo every time we nurse at night, I figure I can let him sleep and skip a diaper change sometimes if it's just pee). The soaker is smooth on one side (cotton fleece, I think), and cotton terry on the other side. Which side touches the baby? The prefold will be folded partially around the soaker, but some of it will touch him...I'm wondering what's better for fast absorbing and for his comfort.

Thanks!

I don't know the "right" answer, but I always used the smoother looking side.

Depends

I've always assumed that two sided doublers were so you have a choice, and could pick whatever worked best for you. Different materials have different properties.

For example, fleece will feel drier next to a baby's skin, but it doesn't absorb as quickly as some other materials. Textured materials hold runny poop better better than smooth ones.

I use those and always put the terry side up, even when I use them inside a disposable (when CDs aren't dry yet, she's a super soaker at night) and it didn't seem to bother her.
