Need advice RE chicken pox

I am new to this board and I could really use some advice.

I have 2 daughters who have each had one dose of the chk. pox vaccine.

I happen to have chicken pox sitting in my living room and I am in complete distress. I am so nervous that this might not be the right thing to do. My head tells me that after all the research i have done, I know that this is the right thing to do...but....my stomach is in turmoil right now because I am afraid. What if this is not the right choice? What if they get it and are one of those kids that have a bad reaction?

Help!

I am really not clear about what you are asking?? What is not "the right thing?"

exposing your children to the chicken pox even though they have had the vaccine?

Well, if intentional exposure has already happened then it's a wee bit late to be terrified! So I think just looking at the facts on the disease can help you stay calm while waiting to see if anything comes of the exposure. (it's possible they won't even get it due to having that one dose)

just check out the numbers:

If your child ends up as one of those with a serious side effect, you will go forward and deal with that. I had what was considered to be a 'serious side effect' because of some nerve issues and did have to go to the hospital but I had no lasting effects. So it also depends on your view of serious-- to some that is not too serious.

Sorry, I am rambling. I have no exposed them yet. I am fairly certain that them getting the ck. pox naturally is the best way to go. I guess the thought of exposing them and the possibility of some thing going wrong, is the only thing holding me back.

With either option, if they would have a serious side effect, I could never forgive myself.

Because they have already had one dose of the vax, I am assuming that they may not even get it, or it will be relatively mild.

By giving them the vaccine, you have already exposed them. It is a live vaccine. They might already have immunity (temporary as it might be).

CP in an otherwise healthy child is usually bengin. Chances are they wouldn't get it "naturally" since they have had the vax already.

So, if I expose them now and they do not get it, what would be my next step?
