I have been using my Metro Wrap since ds was born & love it. However, it is starting to get hot and a little too much fuss now that he's 19lb 10oz @ 7 months. I just custom-ordered a beautiful mei tai. I seems like it would be easy to use since I am already comfortable with my wrap, and versitatile. My question is how comfortable are you wearing baby facing out? I have read it's not recommended by some and fine by others. Something about not enough support for their spines. Any input? TIA!

My biggest issue w forward facing in a MT is that it's really not possible to get it comfortable for me. The baby's centre of gravity is totally different than in an inward facing carry. They kind of lean forward and it's really going to strain your back no matter what you do. I occasionally do it for short periods, but never for longer than 15 min or so.
Why are you wanting to do a forward facing carry? Is it b/c your little one likes to look around? If so - you could try a high back carry so they can look over your shoulder - that's our solution, or else I like to roll the waist strap over a few times so that the body is short enough for DS to have his arms out and then he can see all around and move and wriggle all he wants, even in an inward facing carry.
What kind of MT did you order?
HTH.

I ordered it from babyhawk. I hope it's a good one, the patterns are so beautiful.
I guess I want him to face out because he acts happier that way in my wrap. I am scared to try putting him on my back. Although, I am reading so many mommas here do it. I think I would like to try it with the new MT, but I'm gonna need help! I guess I will wait and see how he likes facing in. Thanks!

Babyhawk is a great brand! I'm sure you'll be happy with it. Back carries with a MT are pretty easy, once you get the hang of it. I learned by watching videos of it on youtube, then practicing with DH spotting, then while kneeling on the bed, and now I can do it anywhere, anytime! I use the 'hip-scoot' method. Now my little guy is a year old and he knows what's going on enough to just sit nicely (ususally!) on my back while I get thinks situated.
Good luck!!
Good luck!!
