mulching

My garden is drying out really bad by 3pm. I was going to use grass clippings to mulch but am nervous they will heat up my raised beds to much.

What do you use to mulch???

I live in a desert and use grass clippings with no problems. I've also had good luck with cardboard covered with grass clippings.

if you can get ahold of some straw, that works great for us..
