Do you wash all of your laundry in the same det. you use for dipes?

Is this completely necessary? I use Gain for our clothes/towels and dreft for baby's clothes and Charlie's for diapers. Is the left over residue from these detergents really affecting my diapers?

I wash all laundry in the same detergent, but I didn't used to. We buy in bulk, so we had lots of "bad" detergent, so I used that on clothes until I ran out, then I just used the same detergent for everything. I think once I run out of this batch of Purex Free & Clear, I'm going to try making my own detergent for everything.

i use all f&c for everything i was reading that you shouldn't use f&c on diapers but i really haven't noticed a difference, and some sites specifically recommend all f&c

my dh would explode if i tried to get him to use 3 different kinds of detergent

i think charlies is the only one you're not supposed to mix b/c it will attract all the other detergent residue in the washer instead of cleaning your dipes. when i used charlies i used it for everything. now i use regular tide for everything.

I don't use any special detergent for diapers. I wash everything in whatever's on sale at the grocery store, including free and clear types, and always have, although I avoid Tide because it gives DD1 a rash. I've been cloth diapering for almost five years, and have never had buildup issues ever. I think a lot of what you read about what detergent you "have" to use is nonsense. To be frank. JMHO, of course.

I wash everything in Country Save laundry detergent. Not only is it cloth diaper safe but it is biodegradable.

No, I don't use the same one, and we have no problems.

Same

We wash everything in Persil. I haven't seen any info on whether Persil is considered good for cloth, but we've had no issues and we've been washing diapers for five years now.

Yes. I use Charlie's Soap for everything. I was under the impression that if you use Charlie's you are supposed to use it for all laundry. You're even supposed to do a couple of loads with nothing when you first start using it to clean out any residue from other detergents.

I wash everything in country save and I've found it to be a REALLY great detergent. DH works as a geoduck farmer, so he comes home really stinky. Country Save gets even his clothes clean and it is definately my preference for cd's

Right now I wash diapers with different detergent (Charlie's), but I have wondered if it is really necessary. I have wondered if the whole "special detergent for diapers" is accurate. For now, unless I have a problem, I will use up the detergent that I do have for clothes and then decide.

I use soapnuts for all of my laundry. Before I switchted I used all f&c for everything.

I switched to Country Save for everything. It seems to work great. I even stopped using fabric softener sheets in the dryer, and see no noticeable difference (and we have hard water!) I buy it from Amazon and it's a great bargain.

I used to wash dipes in BioKleen and our regular laundry with Tide Free and after having major stink issues with BioKleen I switched to using Tide Free for everything. Guess what....no more stink! (and I don't have to buy so much detergent)

This is what I understood also. I LIKE the fact there is no smell on my clothes diapers towels etc. I had such a hard time with my family and reactions to different detergents... all, tide cheer and dreft. Im glad I found charlies everyone is rash free
