Peas & Cucs- teepee, maypole or fence?

Hey mamas! I'm working on my first veggie garden, everything is in except for my sugar snap peas, cucumbers and squash. I'm not sure what would be the best way to support the peas and cucs. I don't really want to do a fence with the location they will be in the garden, but I'm not sure about my other options. I was thinking of making bamboo or wood teepees, but I've gotten a lot of conflicting info on using them off the web. Some sites say they have to be at least 6 ft tall and you have to leave one side open so that you can go inside to harvest, but then other sites don't mention leaving an opening. Will it be more difficult to harvest if you can't get inside it?

Another option I found was a maypole, where you have a tall post in the middle with twine going from stakes in the ground to the top of the pole. I think I like this method the most- it seems the easiest and cheapest method. But would twine really support the plants well? Could I have cucs and peas on the same maypole?

Thanks in advance for your help

synthetic twine is supporting my hops at the moment

I chose a teepe...I used 6ft bamboo sticks I had laying around. It was very easy to do.

The maypole sounds neat

Did you leave one side open? Did you use any horizontal supports between the bamboo?

We use a fence for our peas. Depending on what a teepee was made out of it could be difficult to get the peas.

Twine would NOT hold our peas, they usually end up 6 feet tall & loaded, the pea fence(really a heavy duty vinyl snowfence) barely holds them up & most years the peas drag the fence down.

I haven't done squash, but I've done pumpkins & I do cucs every year. I don't do anything to them, they go along the ground.

I use a piece of fencing for the peas and the cukes just go along the ground, but I plant a bush variety.

I did a teepee one year for beans and cukes. It wasn't open on one side, just 4 5' bamboo poles, tied at the top with twine, then I ran twine around it, to help everything grow. Worked well. Some of the cukes got too long, but they just went over and grew on the other side.

I have a big tall trellis for my peas - its 3 poles standing upright, with one going all along the top, then a thing of plastic checkrboard type stuff (not sure where dad got it from, tbh, probably johnny's or seeds of change though) for them to climb. Currently mine are about 3-4' tall (sugar snaps are closer to 4, snow peas closer to 3), but I planted them way back in April sometime (peas LIKE the cold, just as broccoli, cabbage, brussel sprouts, lettuce, etc). My cucumbers are on portable metal trellises - the'yre about 3.5' tall, and I stick'm in the ground in a zig zag fashion so they stand up better...
