Help with diaper covers

Hi, I am new to cloth diapering (finally decided to try it with baby #3). I have an 8 week old that is 14 lbs. I have been doing lots of reading here and it seems like some covers cause red marks on babies that have chubby thighs. Which cover should I go with???? It seems like those that snap allow for more leg room. I plan on using prefolds. . . . .

Thanks!!!

I use prefolds as well & have a chubby little guy (He was almost 15lbs at 8 weeks). I have a couple of mommy's touch covers & love them. They are super adjustable & at 7 months I'm still using the same one just with them snapped differently then when he was smaller.

I can't wait to try the Mommy's Touch diaper covers! I want to try Proraps snaps as well. With dd I loved both Bummis snap covers and Blue Penguin wrap 'n snaps. I also liked Mother-ease air flows a whole lot, but it's better to fasten the diaper with those. Also, Velcro worked fine and was not a horrible thing; I do like snaps better, but either will work.

From my experience thus far, Thirsties seem to fit pretty well in general. Never had the red mark complaint...and those gussets really help keep messes in!

We love Thirsties covers! Proraps and Bummis Whisper Wraps (both snaps and velcro) left red marks on our chubby-thighed baby! HTH!

Thirsties and Bummis Super Brite.

Both my kids were chubbers and I've alwasy used Bummis SWW or SuperBrites and Polar Babies. No red marks. Polar Babies run super small though so size way up.

Thirsties or the Bummis Superbrights worked well for us.

I tend to use wool (Sugarpeas or Loveybums are fairly widely available) or fleece (Stacinator). I like that they are soft and more breathable than PUL.

I have a chubby-thigh baby, and Thirsties work great for us.

Thirsties didn't work for my chubby-thighed boy. They were too big around the waist. In order to get the cover to fit around his waist, I had to pull it tight enough that it was pinching his thighs.

I've been happy with Dappi's nylon pull-up covers. No red marks whatsoever, easy to clean, last forever (unless you wash on hot--oops)

Another vote for Thirsties covers here. DD has massive thighs and we love them!
