Do you ever lick chocolate off your children.: :

i Don't, but....

I don't, but DH does. To be honest, I've only seen dad's do this. I've seen dad's clean a baby's hand by just sticking their entire hand in their mouth and sucking it clean... assuming it was covered in something the dad liked, like chocolate cake.

"No. Ick" pretty much said it all for me.

I squeeze tushies, I kiss, I cuddle. I do not lick. (My children.)

mmmm chocolate.....

I will lick ANYTHING off my children's face that is edible. DS1 thinks its absolutly hysterical and tries to lick me back. My ovary just released an egg for thinking about it. :

I don't lick DD because I don't like it--or that it encourages her to lick me back.

If she does have an edible glob of food on her face, I may wipe it off with my finger and offer it to her (or, potentially, eat it myself if it's, ya know, really good chocolate).

Course. DS has a habit of holding it till it gets all melted. I love melted chocolate. lmao

You know, even though DD is almost five and DS is three, I still don't like the messy part of childhood. In fact, if I'm drinking something in a restaurant and they ask for a sip, I take a nice big drink before they do, because I know after they drink and backwash all into it, I'm not going to drink any more.

You'd think I'd be over the bodily fluids and ickiness stuff by now, but I'm not. So, nope, no licking of my kids here.

LaLaLaLa, the grossest thing I have ever seen is dd's water at the ball park after she ate popcorn. I would dehydrate before I would drink that.

I won't lick chocolate off my children but I will lick my thumb and use it to clean them. I will eat the chocolate coating off of their ice cream for them if need be.

No, absolutely ick for me. I'm very sensory oriented in this regard. I have occasionally had to lick my thumb to rub something off her face but usually I use a wet paper towel or prefold to wipe her down. I also cannot stand to be licked by anybody or anything (not a dog lover here).

I voted: no, ick

Yes, I have. And other items on occasion. Not saying I love it. But if it is a really sticky something that a dry paper towel won't take well, I do a fast moistening lick, and then use the towel. DH thinks it's gross. I figure they came out of my vagina (OK, technically they didn't, but you know what I mean), their mouths were on my breasts for extended periods, what is a little food stuck on a cute little face?

Blech. No!

It isn't that the kid is gross or that the chocolate is gross. It's the fine veneer of godknowswhat that's under the chocolate that I object to.

Plus, dried spit smells disgusting.
I don't, cause you never know what the "chocolate" really is.

I will use a fork to catch the extra bits on DS's chin and then add a little more to it from the plate and take a bite. (We are eating off of the same plate/sharing a fork at meals.) DH thinks this is really gross. He will not share a fork or cup.

I voted yes, although it would depend on the age of the child I suppose. I don't do it on my other children, but yesterday my 6mo dd stuck her fist into my tuna fish and I licked it off her, because I didn't want to disturb her by getting up for a towel.

Ick and Other.

Ds NEVER gets food on him. Major meltdown if food even got on lips when he was younger. He has been known to eat bread and butter with a fork to avoid greasy fingers. No chance of there being chocolate on him to tempt me even if I would.

Ick ick ick. I have never even considered licking anything off of my child or any other human being.
Sure, why not? I don't lick off chocolate specifically, because my kids don't really eat it, but if they're messy and I don't have any water handy to wet a napkin or something, I wouldn't think twice about licking it off. I mean, I wouldn't lick them if they were caked in dog doo or something genuinely nasty, but just food and maybe the odd bit of saliva or garden soil? Yeah, sure. Although my first line of defense would probably be to spit into a cloth and use that, or lick my finger and do that. Direct licking would be reserved for something yummy. Like chocolate, I suppose.

For the record, I am one of those people who really doesn't mind stuff like that. I'll gladly wipe my kids noses with my hand and then wipe it on my jeans. I'll also happily pick my nose or pick theirs for them, although I generally avoid doing it in front of people who might be offended, just so as not to be rude. But it doesn't bother me. So I'm probably not a good example... Here I am, skewing another poll with my fringe opinions.

Except that I CAN see the point of licking sticky foods off of another human being in a completely different kind of context.
