just started making yogurt, need some ideas

My parents just got me and dh a yogurt maker for our anniversary. I'm making my first batch right now. I've had a little practice with some homemade yogurt that my grandma has been making for me. I've made yogurt cheese (with garlic and herbs for spreading on crackers/bread, etc) and I've mashed strawberries and bananas with honey and mixed with yogurt for my daughters. I'm planning on doing this other fruit as well.

I need some more ideas though. I'd like ideas for what to add to yogurt. I'd also like to cook with it, can it replace other ingredients in some recipes (I'm thinking milk, mayo, sour cream, etc)?

I'd appreciate any kind of suggestions. Thanks

You could make shrikhand. It's normally made with whole milk yogurt and a loooot of sugar, so it's really, really bad, (in a really, really good way)

There is also raita, and tzaziki. (cucumber-yogurt concoctions).

sorry... more indian recipes (I must be hungry):

chaas

lassi
khadi

And don't forget yogurt ice cream-- I realized you can control the tanginess of your yogurt by changing the yogurt starter to milk ratio, and putting it in the fridge a little earlier.

last post on this thread-- I promise!

Add to macaroni and cheese!!
Dips of all sorts (I like to use the Simply Organic herbs)
Sugar and fruit is the main way I use my homemade yogurt.
