Make money off your blog?

I have a lame waldorf/family life blog, but I kind of want to change it and try to make some money/promote it. . . How do I do this and where do I start?

Signing up for affiliate programs and running google ads until you have enough readers to officially sell ad space are good places to start.

I don't make $$ off my blog, but I think the first thing you need to do before trying to make $$ is to get readers.

I personally hate google ads, but that's just my opinion!

okay so another dumb question. . . How do I get readers????!!

Read other blogs (lots of them) and comment. Most comment forms have a way for you to include your blog address (or even include a blurb on what your most recent post way). You'd be amazed how much that will help.

ITA! Look for blogs that use "Comment Luv". When it asks for your website, just enter your blog website address and it should pull through your latest post. Also, set up Twitter and Facebook accounts. You can feed your blog posts (automatically) to Twitter and then to Facebook. Just Google it--there are plug-ins. Once it's set up, you don't have to mess with it again. Having your blog posts on Twitter and Facebook not only gives you more reader exposure but also helps you get crawled more by the search engines which should also drive more readers to your blog.
