2 of my zucchini that looked like they were doing great have now turned yellow and are looking pretty yucky???

I don't think I have over watered but who knows?

This is not the plant but the actual vegetable.

I have been having this same problem with my yellow squash. The zukes haven't set any fruit yet but the squash were growing to about 1/3 size then rotting on the vine. I didnt think I have been overwatering, but everything i could find online made it sound like this is the problem. I also found white spots that look like mildew on some of the leaves. I removed those leaves and have started skipping over the squash section when i water and now there are about 4 squash almost ready to harvest. so i think my problem was overwatering.
good luck with yours.

It could be blossom end rot. Is the rot starting at the end where the flower used to be? I understand that it's caused by a lack of calcium. Putting bone meal in the hole when you plant squash family plants can prevent it. Working some bone meal into the soil around your plant might help. My mom used to put powdered milk in the hole when she planted. It think it would probably work too. I think the bone meal is cheaper though.

Underwatering leads to "blossom end rot" ... overwatering leads to whole plant wilting. The cure: get a moisture tester and use it.

Squash need constant moisture ... and they are heavy water users.
