Are these out of date?

OK, so I'm cleaning out my cupboards and finding all sorts of goodies - I so suck at buying things and the forgetting about them! A lot don't have dates on them. So, I'm wondering if these are still OK to use:

Agave Nectar
Bragg's
golden syrup
apple cider vinegar
red wine vinegar

I really have no idea how long they've been there for. Some are a year plus at least. Also is storing them out on the counter OK or should they be in a dark place? (They have been in a dark place, but I'm thinking in order to remember to use them that my counter would be better!)

Sorry if these are stupid questions! Thanks!

Are they unopened? If so, I'd say they're all okay. If the syrups are opened, I might just check that they are mold-free. When we first started buying real maple syrup, I didn't know it had to be refrigerated, and ours ended up moldy after a while. I'm not sure what the rule is for agave and golden, though.

I'm sure the vinegar's are fine. The nectar & golden syrup I really don't know about... I *have* agave nectar but erm... I haven't gotten around to using it yet, so IDK

The vinegar will last forever. The Braggs... if it doesn't smell off, then it's good. I found some I hadn't used for years and it was still good. Sugar is a natural preservative, so unless there is mold, the sweets should be okay.

I've heard vinegars lose their kick after 6 months or so. Not sure of the accuracy of this. But they do have expiration dates on them, usually.

Everything but the vinegars are unopened... hmmmm - this is confusing! I think I'll assume all is OK unless they smell funny or I see mold (which I don't).

I now have nice and tidy cupboards so hopefully won't have this happen again! (yeah right!! )

Unless you see something visible in them, they're all fine. The syrups can last for years even once opened - and vinegars really don't go bad unless they get contaminated... you can't ferment past vinegar.
