Are these cherries safe to eat?

I think we have Ranier cherries growing in our yard. I can't figure out how to post a picture, sorry, but from my internet research, that's what they are. But, I'm not sure if there are wild cherries that resemble them? Even if so, are wild cherries poisonous? I've snacked on them, and feel fine. DH picked well over a pint for me this afternoon and I would love to enjoy them without worrying about getting sick?

Is it a pretty big tree? Rainiers are big ole' trees. There are tons of orchards of them around here...

It's a HUGE tree. If it's a real cherry tree, it's the hugest I've ever seen. The only other thing I can think it could be is a crabapple, and it's definately not that :-)

I plan to try to grow some, you have to plant them before winter and let them sit out to germinate in the snow and freezing temps. I hope I can do it! I'll pass some on to you, Contrariety
