Anyone do Shettles (or some other method?) - Page 2

That predictor was correct for my DD. It's predicting a girl for me this time.

I'll be blissed out with either.

We had perfect timing for a girl... until that second ovulation dip actually happened. We were half-trying for girl timing, but it was hard with nursing cycles that were not super regular. SO... we dtd twice on ovulation day. I'm guessing we are having boy #3.

I also have a son from a 5 day cut-off. Wasn't trying, but after learning about Shettles afterward I was sure I was going to have a girl. That and my intuition, which was apparently waaaaaay off.

Well my intuition said boy, my friend who does natal moon charts said girl, and the Chinese calendars were half and half.

This time intuition says boy, natal moon charts say boy, and Chinese calendars say girl.

What's a natal moon chart? Do you have a link?

We weren't trying for either, but Shettles method would suggest a boy this time. Chinese calendar says a girl. However, last time Shettles also would have suggested a boy and Chinese calendar said boy, and we got a girl!

I have a girlfriend who does natal moon charts. I'm not 100% sure how it works, but basically it uses the phases of the moon when you were born as well as what astrological sign it is in to determine when you are most fertile. So she can predict which months are your highest likelihood to conceive. Then based on what the moon was doing when you ovulated and your information she can do a gender prediction. She's about 80-85% correct if you know when you ovulated, a little less if you are basing it on EDD alone. If you are really interested send me a private message and I'll give you her email and she can explain it better. I think she charges $7 for a gender prediction.

We accidentally did the Shettles method We wanted to try for a girl and I had been charting but we were still planning on waiting another six months or so. We couldn't have timed it better for a girl though, because I never would have timed it that far out! I ovulated 3-4 days early than usual and our timing was still 5-6 days before ovulation. I couldn't believe that I ended up with a BFP! So we will see if we get a girl this time I have had a lot more nausea this time and a few other differences from my pregnancy with DS so I am pretty sure it's a girl.

I have been thinking about this and I have decided that I don't believe in either the Chinese calendar or Shettles! Just my opinion. I am open to the possibility but it seems too cut and dry.

I definitely don't believe the chinese calendar, I mean is every single 22 year old in the world who has a baby in _____ month going to have a boy? No way, but it's all in good fun. The shettles method has some scientific basis, but it's just a correlation IMHO, since there are too many factors to take into account. We didn't try for either, but I think I know the night I conceived and if so, shettles and the chinese calendar say boy, but DH and I feel like we're having a girl. We'll see.

According to the linked chart, two of my girls should have been boys And one is supposed to be a girl! For this #4, it says girl... I'm hoping it's right!

As for the Shettles method... I've never really looked into that... but I could see why we always end up with girls... so that's really interesting...
