shower curtain - closed or open, which is less cluttered looking?

Do you pull shower curtains closed when not in use or leave them open? Which looks less cluttered?

I mostly keep it closed. I think the collections of soap, shampoo, conditioner, shaving supplies, etc. for three people are more cluttery than spacious-looking. Maybe if you're one of those people who manages a tidy collection in one corner or keeps your shower supplies in a cabinet, but that's just not us.

I close it so it dries properly. So it doesn't have much to do with whether or not it looks cluttered

I voted "closed" but ours is rarely actually closed. I just prefer it that way. No one else around here thinks to close it. And right now we have no towel bars because we haven't finished remodeling. Once the towel bars are up, maybe I'll be more insistent on closing the shower curtain - especially since that's what I'm basing the new bathroom color on.

it makes everything look need. when it is open you see everything! i also think closed makes for a more uniformed look...

Ive never thought about it looking cluttered or not, open or closed. I close it so mold and mildew dont grow in the crevices. :-)

Closed I cannot stand the way that it looks open. Open it looks a mess to me I get mad when STBDH leaves it open

Closed. Keeping it closed after a shower helps it dry out completely and keep from mildewing.

I close it so it will dry properly, plus i like the print on it. I suppose it would depend on how busy your shower curtain was though - if it was a busy pattern, open might look less cluttered.

I think the room looks much neater when the shower curtain is closed, so that's how I voted. ITA with whoever above mentioned the collection of soaps, shampoo, etc looking much more cluttered than the "smaller space" of the closed shower curtain.

But, in reality, the shower curtain often stays open. If we need to hang any laundry, the curtain NEEDS to stay open so there's room to hang the stuff, and with the washing machine in the bathroom, my bathroom doubles as a laundry room.

I can't bear seeing it closed. It makes the room feel closed in, and an ax murderer could be hiding behind it.

i voted open. i do keep it closed to dry, but then open it later. we have a rather small bathroom and keeping it closed makes it seem even more cramped.
