We have a newish dishwasher and I really feel it gets the dishes clean with much less water (especially since I have a small sink which doesn't have room for a tub to put soapy water in--I would have to leave the water running to wash dishes--very wasteful).

No dishwasher here.

I cook, dh washes...always.

Funny, a dishwasher is way down on my list of priorities...perhaps because I never do the dishes

We wash by hand, and I hate doing dishes. We once had a dishwasher when we lived in Florida, but I never used it because I was so neurotic about bugs. I didn't use any cupboards below the counter (good thing I had lots of upper cabinets) or the dishwasher because for some reason I thought there might be more bugs living in those. Yes, I was completely insane.

Just last week we discovered that our dishwasher does work. FIL had told us it leaked. It rarely leaks and it is the first dishwasher I have encountered where I don't have to rinse them first. It is such an awesome experience. Our dishes started getting washed a lot sooner now!

I would die without our dishwasher. Next to the washing machine, it's the most heavily used appliance in our house. Dishes would pile up for weeks with out it. I HATE washing dishes by hand.
