Feet growing 1/2 size+ in a week???

OK, I've heard of growth spurts, but can this really be possible.

Last week, dd went to ballet/tap class on Saturday. Her shoes were fine. Friday, she wanted to put the shoes on to dance around the house. We could barely cram her feet in. They are clearly too small.

Could her feet really have grown that much in a week? I'm baffled.

don't know if this will help much but my DS (8) went from a size 1 in September 08 to a size 4 by Feb. 09. I feel like I keep buying shoes I would love for him to stop soon. It is a never ending battle with shoes right now.

My kids have been having record growth spurts the last year and a half. My son's starting the teen years, so he doesn't really surprise me, but a year and a half ago, my little girl was in size 10 shoes, size 6 clothes and now she's about to outgrow her size 3 shoes and she's fitting into size 10-12 clothes. Apparently, it can happen, but geez, we're going broke buying new clothes!

My kids also seem to outgrow their clothes and shoes overnight. It's very odd. One day everything fits fine, and the next everything is too small.

This just happened with my oldest dd's shoes today.

Yep, the growth seems to happen all at once.

Ds1 is almost 13 yo so we are having quite a bit of growing. For Christmas I bought him size 7 shoes that were way too big. He is currently measuring a men's 10. It's like having a toddler and checking their choes every morning and after every nap. You never know when they wll get too small. I remember one day when he was about 13 months he went down for a nap with his pant legs rolled, by dinner they seemed to fit fine and by bed they were too small. He is doing it again.

Yes~!my kids grow in big spurts like this. Generally it's preceded by them eating like there's no tomorrow, sleeping more and then, needing new clothes and shoes.

DD can literally not fit into clothes one week, and the next they fit.

It can happen, not with my kids that fast but it can. There's also the possibility of her grabbing the wrong ballet shoes.

My dd's shoes were getting tight so we re-fitted them for her & it helped enough to get her to the end fo the year. She had different shoes for recital & in the end I had her wearing them for practice. Unfortunatly it doesn't work for tap shoes so my other dd had to suffer a couple of weeks.lol

i have not had that exact experience but that can happen. we went on a two week vacation and the pants that were the right length right before we left, were an inch above her ankles when we came back. and no they hadnt shrunk.
