moving strawberries

I really need to do this before they start to spread rampantly this year. There are plants I want to move that are fruiting and/or in full flower. I'm thinking they will be ok. That bed is very full and I am starting new beds really soon. I want to dig this space today so I can plant a pot of thyme that really needs to go there now. and hold the strawberries in big pots with mushroom compost/really good organic potting soil/ sand. would that be a good enough mix?
do you think it is a really bad time to dig and move strawberries? or do you have any tips on minimizing the shock/ keeping these plants to yield? thank you.

If you put the strawberry plants in limbo in decent soil and keep it watered you should be good for at least a week. Just don't expose the roots to sun or let them dry out - strawberries aren't exactly fond of that. Those I do know from absolute experience. If you've got a cloudy but dry day coming up, make that your planting/transplanting day. And when they're back in the ground, water water water. Just know that when you disturb them when they're not dormant, it can lower their berry production a bit. They'll bounce back next year though. Btdt. A few times.

You will likely have a lower yeald this year. I've lost all my berries after moving strawberry plants late in the season. But the plants will survive as long as they don't dry out and will likely do better next year if they're not over crowded anymore.
