Acid reflux, anyone? - Page 2

I'm adding my 'Amen' to apple cider vinegar in water. It's a really intense (though not bad) taste going down, but I feel SOO much better.

Also, my mw recommended not mixing protein and carbs when you eat. She said the acid that breaks down meat is neutralized by the pepsin (I think it was pepsin) that breaks down the carbs. So when you have both, you end up producing a lot more acid trying to break down the meat.

Right now, I can't remember whether this recommendation was aimed specifically at meat or all protein, I'll think about it and try to post back.

Good luck! Sounds like you have LOTS of ideas to try!

How can you possibly eat meat without eating carbs too? Carbs are in everything, even just meat and veggies is meat and carbs. You'd have to eat meat by itself alone, and who wants to do that?

I have no idea what to do. Thanks to this thread I will try something. I get it so bad that I feel like I am going to vomit and then my throat hurts for days....Ahhh, the second trimester was wonderful because it just disappeared and now it has reared its ugly head again...
