I took River to Borders this morning and wore her in the Moby. She was totally chill the whole time. One of the Borders employees was noticeably confused by the Moby and thought it was strange, but whatever.

I'm getting DH's presents put together for Father's Day. I got him a book about good hikes to take children along (he loves hiking with River and this will probably be one of their main activities together). I'm also making him a card. I took pictures of River with signs saying "Happy Father's Day" and "I Love You, Dad!" for the front and inside of the card. And I'm going to the candy store at the mall to get him a bag of mixed candy, all the kinds I think are gross but he loves, like chocolate covered gummy bears. I have to have it ready by Sunday because that's when he leaves for two weeks for a conference.

Baby's crying, gotta go.
What great ideaa you have for Father's Day!! I might have to steal the picture idea .

Thanks for the running advice Kristin and Mel (and anyone else I might have missed). I'm very interested in an exercise accountability thread!! Let's start it up!!

: thinking of you both! I know you'll be taking her home in no time, mama!

I traded in my maternity clothes today and scored some great second-hand diapers in trade! I'm very excited. Got some infant size pfs and some contours and a large swaddlebees pocket with a bg insert. We'll see if it works. It looks to be on the small size...maybe 15 lbs, so we might be using it sooner than later.

Sorry, I have been gone, but my mood was really down and I couldn't find the energy to post. I am feeling so much better though.....it is like a complete turnaround. : The big difference is that Ben's screaming is decreasing and he is falling asleep by 8:30pm instead of staying awake screaming until 10 or 11pm. This actually gives me and DH some time to unwind before bed.

Things are not suddenly easy by any means. My 21 month old is sick now, and has been high needs. Last night Ben was awake from 1:30pm until 3:30pm and then Liam was awake for the day by 5:30am.

But I am finding my groove and somehow managing 2 kids under 2. I still haven't figured out how to leave the house with them without it being a disaster, but we are all surviving.
I'm so glad your doing better...those down times are tough. I actually am on more during those times so everyone hears me cry and complain!

Lindsay I didn't check this last night but I woke a few times in the night and this morning and you popped into my head. I prayed for the Sophia, for the docs and for you and your DH and DD1. I will continue today! Can't wait to hear the great news that it all went well!!!!

I'm doing so much better today. Last night I had the feelings of "okay there is a reason for my life". I spent time outside with DD1 and DH last night instead of in here sulking on the sofa. I didn't even need to journal last night. This morning I feel so rested and even saw outside there is a garage sale sign and was actually excited about the thought of walking to it. First time in weeks I"ve been excited about something other than baby. LO slept sooo good last night. Thanks for all the tips on dressing...always had a problem with that! I put her in a long sleeved gown with socks and swaddled her in the swaddleblanket. She went to sleep right after nursing and slept till 2, barly no squirming then back to sleep again till 6:30. When I woke to check on her I didn't panic, I just touched her for breathing then went back to sleep. I think the baby blues have gone, at least for today. Praise God. :

OMGoodness! LO was just so tired, she's been awake since 6:30...so I swaddled her and nursed her and she fell asleep...but here's the OMGoodness part....I laid her in the bassinet in her room and she is still sleeping!!!!! I put in the moniter and am off to take a shower!!!!!!!!! :::

Thank you thank you thank you Kate!!!! Had I not heard you say many a times about swaddling I wouldn't have tried it again!!!!!

Gosh, Zack hates to be restricted.
He loves having his arms up by his head when he sleeps.
After one week he popped out of the best swaddles and was nicknamed, Houdini.
Since then, the more room the better.

I'm glad swaddling works for some of you.
Lucky for me, Z will go to sleep on his own.
And, the bassinet is now a rolling diaper cart.

N hated swaddling a week after we got home...she wanted her arms out too. So I never tried again, till Kate kept saying how much it helped LO not to squirm. So thought, might as well try, and we have the swaddle blankets a friend loaned us. She did wiggle her feet out last night but so far for nap she hasn't. She is still asleep! It's been over 1 1/2 hours! I check on her every 10min though! I've gotten so much done and even had time to take a shower do hair and makeup. I love holding her as she sleeps but it'll be nice to have at least one time a day to be able to get myself ready. Of course this is thinking this will last...you never know! Oh now she's squirming...gotta get my smilin girl! She's so happy when she wakes!

Hey I was reading old posts just to see what I had written...talk about a complainer!!! Anyway I noticed that Amy no longer posts, unless I"ve missed something?

I'm so glad it's working! Every baby is different, but eden got to the point where she was so wiggly she'd hit herself in the face and wake herself up!

I'm thinking of Lindsay &Sophia and their family this morning to. I'm on the edge of my seat here waiting for the good news!!

Well, we made it up early again...I'm so tired by the end of the day when I do this, but lo does so much better throughout the day!

Thinking of Lindsay and Sophia this morning ::

I shared a DDC with Amy after our first babies, and seem to remember that she didn't post much at first after the babies were born. I keep up with her by following her blog sometimes

I'm feeling discouraged with the elimination diet right now...crying baby, more later.

Sending lots of good thoughts and prayers Lindsey and Sophia's way.

Back from Ben's 2 month check-up. He got a higher dose of Zantac. Am I the only one who lies to the ped about where baby sleeps? He goes to sleep in his crib, but was in our bed by 1am last night.

We have a great pedi who promotes co-sleeping and even made sure I was able to do it with all of my 2nd child's hospital stays, but if she wasn't like that then I'd have no problems telling them what they want to hear. And you just reminded me that I have to call her and get refills of inhalers for DD2... thanks

One of River's first nicknames was Baby Houdini. She could get her arms out in nothing flat. We can't swaddle her anymore because of her harness (and spending a lot of time swaddled can be bad for infant hip development, so even if her hips were fine I would make sure to only swaddle her at night).

Sending good vibes to baby Sophia and her family this morning! I hope all went well with the surgery, and I can't wait for the update.
