Anybody buy frozen organic raspberries from WF?

This is weird, but I was wondering if anybody out there happens to buy raspberries (organic, frozen) from whole foods market? I recently popped a few in the microwave, which I have never done before, and they zapped sparks, like there was metal or something in there!

I quickly took them out, switched the bowl, thinking it was somehow the bowl causing the problem, and tried again. More zapping. then I took berries from a new, unopened bag and tried those - more zapping.

Are they contaminated with something, or do raspberries always do this in the microwave? Anybody have any laying around that they could test to see if the same thing happens? i'm afraid to buy more thinking that there is something wrong!!!

Arg. Wish I had read this before I went to whole foods today, I would have bought some!!!

All I have in the freezer are blueberries and they're from Costco...

This is actually a common phenomenon. Google "frozen microwave spark" and you'll get a ton of hits.

The berries are most likely fine.
