Is there more fabric at the top seam?

Sounds like you need a new dress if it must be below the knee.

And who altered it? If it was the bridal salon from whom you bought it I would DEMAND a new dress, and they can pay for overnight shipping, from wherEVER it needs to come. Otherwise...your sister might just have to understand. You MAY be able to get some fabric from the manufacturor of the dress, again, if it's from a bridal salon...but the time frame might make it difficult, especially to be able to match a dye lot. Did it come with a matching wrap, by any chance? In any case, adding fabric to the hem wil be noticable.

True, UNLESS you could disguise the add-on with a ribbon. If you have extra fabric (and the dress lends itself to a line of ribbon or lace or something 2-3 inches above the hem), you could check with your cousin to see if she'd mind...

Does it look pretty at that length? I'd call the bride and tell her there was a mishap.

Post a pic and maybe you'll get some ideas. You're not going to be able to invisibly add length when you don't have fabric to do so. Who did the alteration?

What happened? Were you able to fix it?
