The mostly potty learned LO and swimming.

3 yo DS is in underwear full time, but I wonder if we should still do swim diapers.

Last summer DS was just beggining PL, so putting him in a swim diaper made perfect sense. This year I'm not so sure about it.

He has occasional accidents. One incident in particular is on my mind. He spilled some cold water on his lap and it caused him to immediately pee (he was very soaked.) So, I figure the moment the cold water in a pool hits him it is going to have a similar effect.

I was kind of thinking of skipping swim diapers for running around under the sprinkler, but doing them in public pools. This inconsistency might lead to conflict though.

Little known fact: Swim diapers do not hold in pee. So your only question then is poo.

I knew it didn't hold it, but I kind of felt like it filtered it.

No, and pee is sterile anyhow. The concern is poo-- if any fecal matter gets in a pool, they have to drain the pool and clean it. So if he hasn't mastered fecal continence, use a swim diaper for the sake of anyone who'd like to use the pool for the rest of the day.

Have him pee before he gets in the pool. Does he have a "schedule" for poops?
