Stripping Covers

Woo-hoo! Just got done stripping all the kids diapers (some of them going on four years, through three kiddos) by boiling. They needed it soooo badly. The water was disgusting and the diapers came out smelling like. . .Nothing! I was so excited. Here is my question. . . I tried stripping some of the covers, a couple pockets, Imsi Vimsi, Wonderwraps, yet they still wreak. Are covers not strippable? I boiled them for about 15 minutes almost constantly stirring, so the snaps didn't melt to the side or whatever. I just washed them in Country Save, but they still stink. Help. Should I just give up and get a few new covers?

I would probably try washing the pockets with a little bit of bleach (like 1/4 cup) and then a bunch of rinses. Then I would probably just get new covers since they aren't overly spendy!

I don't have any other suggestions besides the bleach. I'm surprised the boiling didn't work!

Sometimes PUL just won't give up the stink--I'd say an investment would be in your future--but man you got your moneys worth out of those dipes!

Thanks ladies! I will go out and buy some bleach, try that out. If that doesn't work I am getting kind of excited about the prospect of some new pretty covers. I wasn't really that into brownish/yellowy white anyway. LOL
