Here's a question involving an almost 2 year old and diapering...

Hi mamas!

I have a question about diapering and potty training.

My DD is 21 months. We were 100% CD until I had a bad day and completely stopped...around 14 months. From then, I have been buying sposies, which I incredibly hate. I just haven't gotten back in to the CD. In fact, my love for them went completely out the door that I got rid of ALL. OF. THEM! Who does that

Anyways, here is my question: DD can tell me she needs to go potty. She will say it, then just do it, and would be completely fine sitting in it. She will once in a while say "Poop" and grab her diaper, but otherwise, she would be ok if I didn't change her that exact moment. (Which, trust me, I change her immediately. Just using that as an example.) I WANT to get back in to CD but think it might be too late to invest the money...again. (Stupid me!) So, I know that potty training "could come easier" with those who wear CD. Do you think it would be beneficial if I put her back in CD now that we are in the beginning stage of training? If yes, any ideas of which kind would be greatly appreciated! Before I was using BG 3.0 and Fuzzi Bunz.

Sorry this was a bit long winded. Any ideas would be awesome as I would like to make this process as smooth as possible!

TIA!!

I would. It made training so much easier for me with my middle child. Go with something inexpensive. Maybe something she can pull up and down and a thick one for night time.
But I vote yes, go back

I totally agree with the PPR I think it would totally help--I am having pregnancy brain right now but know there are some side snapping pocket like trainers that you can stuff and she can pull up and down still. Then maybe get some traditional pockets--but maybe one-size so you can use them with the next if you have more --for night time.

I know a lot of people like the Happy Heiny's trainers, and the snap-ez always looked good to me. We're not ready to PL, though, so I haven't tried them.

I don't think those are that cheap, though. I wonder if you could find them used, since many kids don't stay in trainers for that long.

I've also wondered if you could use a thick cotton training pant, then a cheap pull on cover (Dappi or whatever) over the top. Or wool. Then they can pull both on and off.

I've heard good things about the book "Potty train your child in one day", and plan to use that when we get there. if that helps...

Good luck!

I also agree that putting your LO back into CDs will help with potty learning.

BTW: PM if you are interested buying some used side-snap potty trainers in very good condition. DD is finished with her Fuzzi Bunz Mother of Eden Trickle Free Trainers and Overnight Undies.

So would you buy actual diapers or training pants? Or possibly some of both??

Random question way off topic: What does the "D" mean in DS, DD, DH??? I know what the others stand for, but why can I not figure out what the D is!! (For as long as I've been on here, you'd think I would of asked before )

Darling or Dear

Darling Son
Darling Daughter
