g-diapers inserts in another brand cloth diaper cover?

Someone purchased a bunch of small g-diapers inserts from our registry, but not the covers. Will the inserts work with other cloth diaper covers (like Swaddlebees, Bummis, or Mommy's Touch pocket diapers) or are we better off purchasing the g-diapers brand covers? We plan to cloth diaper most of the time, but have a limited budget.

Thanks for your input!!!

Hmm, it might work, if you don't mind the inside of the cover touching your baby's skin. I wouldn't stuff a pocket diaper with it. I'm sure it would work, but it wouldn't make much sense, since the diaper part would still need to be changed each time, so if you're having to wash the diaper, you might as well wash the insert too. You might want to get 1 or 2 little g pants and use them for when you're out of the house. That's what I would do in your situation. At gdiapers.com they're having a Father's Day sale from 6/10-6/20. Use the code 'thanksdads' for 20% off.

I've put gDiaper inserts into all sorts of diapers and covers with generally good results. I agree with PP though, there's not much point in doing that on a regular basis. What they are great for though is when you need extra absorption either at night or on a long car trip or if you're at an event and just can't risk a leak. We were given several bags of them even though we don't use gDiaper covers anymore (love the concept but the velcro tabs curl and it drives me crazy!) and used cloth inserts in them even when we did, but I still use the flushable inserts as an extra layer in other diapers from time to time. They're more reliable and more trim than any of the cloth inserts I have. When I run out I'll just go back to using all cloth though.

So I'd say that if you have lots of other diapers already, don't bother buying the little G pants. Just save the inserts for when you need a little boost.

I did a quick search for codes on the internet and found this code: kiwibaby

It is for 20% and works! It's supposed to be good until the 30th, but I would use it right away...

I've used them in weeones covers with the gussets. They worked great. I didn't want to buy the covers as I don't like velcro and we were only using them for 10 days.

We used them as overnight inserts when DD was older - inside a prefold and cover.
