1st real back carry!

So, yeah, I feel like a goddess. Making dinner and putting away the laundry with my 8mo on my back in the mei tai. And I did it on my own.

She happily munched on a piece of carrot back there while I described the making of soup.

My shoulders are killing me now, so I need to learn how to tie without so much discomfort (or maybe you get used to it?), but wow, I loved that!!

Next I want to tackle getting her on my back in the wrap w/out help.

Just sharing my excitement. :

Congrats!! It's exciting isn't it. I've just started getting DS on my back, with a wrap. I practice kneeling on my bed (just in case )

If you look at my thread about my first back carry in public being a mess, someone posted some excellent youtube videos showing how to do a back carry in a wrap.

Awesome!!! congrats!

And there is probably some tweeking you can do to make it so your shoulders don't hurt, they shouldn't hurt so don't just get used to it, lol.

PP is right that you shouldn't have to "get used to" the pain, but you are right that you may just be using different muscles for the back carry than you've been using, and if that's all the soreness is, you should be more comfortable in a week (of wearing like that everyday).

That is very exciting that you did it, though! Opens up a whole world of possibilities!
