Decreased Movement?

I know there have been a few threads about this but I haven't felt the baby move all day... I know that is bad and I think that I poked at him enough I COULD get the 10 movements they want for a kick count but he is usually really active!! Should I call the OB? Go in? Not sure what to do here...

could you drink something cold and sweet and see if that gets him moving? It never hurts to call and have things checked out. I'd probably call first and drink something in the meantime. Better safe than sorry if you are concerned!

Drink something cold and sweet and lie down- see if you can feel some movement. If not, call your OB. Better safe than sorry, right?

I ate a bowl of ice cream and drank a bottle of cold water and still nothing really... and I have been poking him which usually pisses him off but that hasn't really done much either. I don't want them to laugh at me for being stupid because last time this happened the monitors pissed him off and he started moving right away... but I don't want to not go in if it is something bad ya know? I just called and she said chomp on some ice (the thought of that makes my teeth hurt... cold water will have to do) and if I don't feel him move 5 times in an hour to come in. Too bad there isnt, like... a window so I can just see whats going on in there!!

Try a cold pack on baby's butt. See if that gets him moving?

I would not hesitate to go in. Seriously. They can roll eyes all they want. This is your baby and your body. If you are worried, go in to be reassured!!

I think I'm going to eat some watermelon and drink some water and see if he moves... I feel like I should be calmer this time around but I think I worry more!!!

My baby has quiet days sometimes, where I hardly feel him move at all the entire day. Then a few days later he's bouncing off the walls. But it's been like this my entire pregnancy so I've never been too worried about it (but of course it's nerve wracking!).

Thinking about you! Hope you started getting lots of movement!

Not to be too scary, but I had a similar experience with a less than ideal result. Just go in and let them monitor you. If they laugh or think you're being paranoid, let them. Who cares? Your baby's health and well-being is the most important thing in the world! Please post updates.

Hi chely7425, I really hope your baby is OK, but I wanted to reassure you that you shouldn't feel silly for going in to get it checked out. When I called my OB, he said to go in straight away, and the nurses didn't mind at all, I'm sure they see it all the time. Unfortunately it can sometimes be very serious if you don't feel movement. 99% of the time it will be fine, but it's definitely worth going in just to check, and you'll feel SO much better having gone in and seeing that it's all fine, otherwise you'll be sitting there worrying all night! Sending lots of movement vibes and healthy baby vibes your way...

Update:

I went in and got checked and the baby is doing fine A bit smooshed but healthy!! They said to keep doing twice daily kick counts and to come straight back if I don't get 5 in an hour. They did an u/s too just to make sure and he looks good. I have my next appointment Thursday... but I am hoping I have him before then!!!

I'm glad you went in. I had the same thing, went in, on the monitors she was fine...good h/b,etc. The u/s showed differently...amniotic fluid was 3 and I was immediately induced and had her June 1.
