The first pics are where my 'garden' was last year. Everything died! Well the kids noticed this a few weeks ago and I don't know what it is

The second are harder to see, but it is where i planted some seeds this year and some plants and flowers and they all died too. But this thing is growing and I am not sure if it's something i planted or just some weed

The stuff on the bottom looks like something we call "chokeweed" or "bindweed". Once it starts, you can't get rid of it. Unless you want it to take over, pull it out.

The second group might be bindweed (convovulvus), not morning glory. Related to it, though.

In the first group, are the stems square? They look like some sort of mint to me maybe...
