So what are you calling your little baby bean?

Our first was Mount M&M. I don't remember why. One was a bean, one I forget. Our last baby was Babymort, because we are huge Harry Potter fans and I was sooooo sick. I'm not sure what we're going to call this one while it's still on the inside.

Ha, this is one of our favorite parts of being pregnant! DS was Smedley and/or Twitchell in utero - DH went so far as to tell people we were considering those names for real - with a straight face - I still giggle when I think of the people trying to recover!

We haven't really settled on a nickname for this one yet, but ideas being thrown around include Yogi, George (DS loves Curious George) and Cheese (this is another DS contribution - he thinks it's the best joke EVER. "We're going to have a baby and calling it Cheese!" and then we say, no, no, that's silly! and he cracks up and argues with us about it.)

Right now the baby is called tadpole because that is apparently what it looks like at this point...hehe

We call ours Pepper.

Right now it's just "little one". We will come up with a nickname as time goes by.

Originally I was calling it Bean. My husband decided that he didn't like it and wanted it to be called Peanut. I didn't like it so we met in the middle and now our baby's called Beanut.

<3 Beanut!

We're calling it Quachi. He's one of the mascots for the 2010 Olympics, which will be held in Vancouver (where we live), and we're due right smack in the middle of the games, so it seems fitting. Oh, and he's a sasquatch.

You can check him out here:

Ummm...'the baby'? Yeah we're unoriginal.

I give up naming my pre-born babies until they're born or I know the gender. Apparently I picked a racial slur for my DD and didn't realize it. Until I said it in front of DH and he about choked and told me I could NEVER EVER say that word again

We're just calling it "the baby" this time since we have a 2.5 year old and don't want him to be confused once the baby is born and it has a different name! Once we know the sex and have chosen a name, we will just call it that. My son is "Bugaboo" and when he was little he responded better to that than his own name!

This one is Nugget (as in little nugget of pure gold NOT chicken nugget )

Garrin and I were talking about this last night. Gideon was mostly "the baby" until we found out he was a boy. Garrin calls me Girl and I call him Boy, so the baby became "The Littlest Boy." When we got frustrated that we couldn't agree on a name, we also called him "He-Who-Cannot-Be-Named" for a while, too.

We are trying to agree on somethign for this baby. We have thought of Newbie/Noob, Third, neonate and Childer. Anyone who gets all those references get a million points. Yes, we are big geeks.

ROTFLOL! I'm so sheepish to say, but we call ours Baby Nugget, but more like in the chicken nugget sense. Sort of a glob of mystery meat at this point. Terrible, I know.

I like Baby Bean, too, I say that a lot. My dh calls it the blob. I was looking at 4-5 week pics online and was like, "isn't this cute! Isn't it amazing!" He glanced and said, "looks like a blob to me". :

Well Noob Tube is from a game - it is a grenade launcher I think (although I am certain that isn't the correct reference), Third is probably a reference to Ender of Ender's Game (also known as Andrew), neonate is from neonatology, but Childer I am at a loss. Although it does ring a bell? Do I get 750,000 points?

Ok, that is the weirdest mascot EVER.

But then I thought that Anchorage's dancing moose was weird until I saw the Wildest "splotch". (I think that ended up being changed though).

We started calling this little one "Squidward" or "Squidy" after an intense game of scrabble.

I like cheese! I also think it's a cute name for your bump.

We don't have one yet, since we just found out yesterday that I have a little blob in there. Ds was turtle, which I thought was cute. Maybe I'll let ds pick a nickname, it'd probably be spiderman or batman, though.

I totally thought it would be George forever according to DS, but then he came up with Cheese. So you never know!

You got Third from Ender's Game, so you can have all the points you want.

Noob is an abbreviation for Newbie. We are big gamers in our house (table top pen and paper type RPGs). Neonate and Childer both come from Vampire: The Masquerade, an RPG.

Ah! I used to play GURPs but haven't in a LONG time. I tried some more well known games, but had trouble figuring out which dice for what- GURPS is pretty simplistic, but I guess that is what works for me!

I miss playing, but much of our old group has moved, had kids, etc and finding the time is difficult. My oldest is 11, though, so here's hoping!
