does anyone else ever watch this on weekday mornings? ds like to watch and it is nice in the morning so that i can eat breakfast.. sort of

my one small problem is that the host makes me want to tear my hair out. i don't mind her when she is speaking... its the singing that makes me nuts. and not so much her voice but the lyrics. i don't know what it is about them but they grate on my nerves.

actually i think i sort of know but it sounds weird. she is very very upbeat but the lyrics are sort of negative. like her play ground song says something like 'you have to wait in line at the play ground, you never ever hit at the play ground, when mom says we have to go you yell and scream' or something along those lines. i think she has a few things that you can do but by that song the play ground doesn't sound fun at all why would you not sing about all the fun things you can do?

the clean up song bugs me too. for a couple reasons. first off because she sings about losing your teddy bear and your markers drying our what an odd choice for song lyrics. the other reason is because the its basically about how cleaning isn't fun but you have to do it by youself so you can have fun and play next time. i mean i guess thats sort of true.. but cleaning can be fun... isn't that the point of singing while you clean?

and my personal favorite. the doctor song. the kid says he doesn't feel well all over and they sing about how the doctor will make you better (b/c she's magic) and the poor kid goes in feeling sick and tired and w/e else is wrong with him and the doctor gives him a shot. um why would you get a shot when you go the doctor b/c you don't feel well? what on earth would that shot have done for the sick kid? then it sings about how everyone goes to the doctor and gets a sticker. and your parents are proud of you for getting a shot b/c it pinched.

it always seems like the songs have a line or two about what you can do and then the rest of the song is what you can't do. she looks so flipping smiley and happy and she sings her 3 page list of what you can't do in the grocery store, at the park etc. i have no idea why this bugs me but it really does. why would you sing a bunch of songs about what a kid can't do? and why would you imply that every time they don't feel well they go to the doctor who makes them better with a shot? that doesn't even make sense. when i was that age it would have made me not want to go to the doctor when i was sick.
