About Me: Rileyscoutmom - where to begin

Thread Starter
I have a 6 year old dd who has chronic loose bms and some emotional outbursts - I have started her on probiotics and some supplements, have gone organic and am trying to weed out the gluten and dairy.

I have a 6 month old dd who has . . .
Reflux (so bad she had seizure like episodes, apnea and once stopped breathing and turned blue).
She can not digest the DHA/ARA in infant formula so I have to buy neocate (it is the only one you can get without dha/ara).
Possibly some food allergies/intolerance . . . but we are doing her gluten free/casein free
She also takes probiotics and fish oil

I have been pregnant 3 times and have had bad hg with all three. During my 6 month old's pregnancy I took abx for bv (which I believe is a yeast related condition). And obviously nutrtion was an issue because of the really bad hg.

I had one silver filling but that tooth fell out 2 months before my pregnancy with 6 month old. I had to have an emergency root canal during my pg but went to a specialist.

Me, a mess:
HG obviously
Newly developed anxiety and depression (boy does it suck)
Constant digestive issues (since being a teenager)
Horrible allergies (my eyes itch and burn so bad this summer I can't hardly close them)
Chronic strep throat (thus a lot of abx) as a teenager and young 20s
Borderline thyroid function
Insomnia
Lethargy
Mental fog issues
I have a positive ana that keeps getting higher but they can't tie anything into it (1:250 I believe it was last)

So I think I am going to start the really expensive threelac/oxygen thing mentioned in this thread.

All three of us take epsom salt baths daily and clay baths once a week. The two girls see a chiropractor now.

I take:
b complex supplement
Zinc
Selenium
A green supplement
Milk thistle
Fish oil

Ack. We are a mess. Seriously the only thing I can eat right now is Pizza (I crave it something fierce and anything else upsets my stomach) and I must admit I drink almost no water but am addicted to Pepsi. Yes, yes - I am teeming with yeast. I have been so busy trying to get my girls healthy.

I'd take the whole family off gluten and dairy if I were you. Craving pizza - that's a sure sign right there.

Read www.dogtorj.net (specifically, http://www.dogtorj.net/id23.html). You can see the declining health cascade.

agreed

You definitely all need to go gluten free, it makes huge changes in my sons behavior, as well and digestive health, I LOVE a suppliment called yeast cleanse, I am really yeasty and don't have the energy at this point in my life to do a proper cleanse and stay off sugar, so whenever I feel it coming on I take alot of this stuff and it works a charm. My gluten , lactose, soy intolerent son did well on lactose free formula ( from target)
Good luck, but start with the gluten , it could change everything and is not as hard as it initially looks.

HG makes me think of low B6 and low molybdenum. I think it's related to low sulfate, which is used to detox a bunch of the pregnancy hormones.

Anxiety, depression and insomnia point to low serotonin. Here's a page I made about the nutrients to make serotonin.

I also think it's really important that people get plenty of folate and B12 and calcium. They're easy to be deficient in, especially with digestive issues and elimination diets, and can cause all sorts of issues in you're deficient.

I'm sure there's more, but those are the things that jumped out at me in the OP.

You sound like me before I was diagnosed with Celiac disease, except I don't have kids yet Definitely a path to check out. Celiac also prevents absorbtion of B and D, which is why deficiencies in those crop up. I would go gluten free for all of you.
