Bidding You Farewell!

Just wanted to let you all know that I'll be leaving this ddc.

My dd was born on Jun 7th at 4:22 via c/s after sudden onset of Severe Pregnancy Induced Hypertension leading to Severe Pre-Eclampsia.

Baby was born healthly at 31w2d. And hold her own in Hospital.
She was 3 lbs 9oz, 16 inches long and a head full of hair.

The nurses report that she is feisty and ill tempered (like her mother apparently!) We'll get to bring her home a little closer to her due date (of Aug 6) assuming all continues to go well.

I wish you all well and successful uncomplicated pregnancies and deliveries that you dream!

Wow! Congratulations on a healthy, fiesty baby. And for the dubious honor of being our ddc's first! Here's wishing you both the very best as you continue to heal and grow. Are you sharing the babe's name?

Your title scared the heck out of me! I'm glad both you and babe are doing well. I hope she has an uneventful NICU stay and is home soon. How are you doing? That must have been scary? Did the pre-e clear up right after delivery? Pre-e is scary!

Baby's name is

Erin Tara

(dh and I picked Erin a while ago - though we were totally expecting a boy! and both big sister's decided they like Tara for the middle.)

How are you doing? That must have been scary? Did the pre-e clear up right after delivery?

I'm hanging. Still very much in shock. No - still suffering issues with blood pressure and trying to get it under control. The thing that puzzles me is that my bp's were stable ... and suddenly they went off the richter scale ... I was admitted with a bp of 200/120 - 3 days of mag. sulfate - hypoglycemic shock amongst other things --- wee let me tell ya that is a ride I care not to repeat!

I was released yesterday after pressuring the doc - that the hospital is not conducive to my healing, and was actually pushing my bp higher. My husband who is normally laid back - is keeping me to the bare minimum of activities (he's taking care of me! ) and my older girls are happy to have me home.

So no things haven't quite returned to normal just yet. I'm fighting emotional stress / shock - right along with blood pressure issues. Frankly, I'm a mess and more of a postpartum basket case than I remember previously! But I'll get there, and figure out what happened. In the mean time, my pump is calling.... and then I need to sleep some more... 5 days in hospital... means 5 days total and utter lack of sleep for me so I'm catching up!

Thanks for the thoughts....
