Need to find history of vaccines in US

Thread Starter
I am not having any luck finding out what vaccines I might have had as a child. Both of my parents died when I was 9 and I went to live with my aunt and uncle. They do not have my shot records. The only thing I know is that I had chicken pox when I was a week old...and I survived!! ) Anyway, is there some website or book that I can look at to see what was on the vaccine schedule from the time I was born until I was 9? I was born in 1968 and I just wonder what I might have been given? Like, was I probably just given the measles vaccine or was the mmr available and at what age did they say it was for? Things like that... Hope someone can help me.

Here is a timeline:

I was born in the late 60's also, and my mom had records of me getting DPT and polio vaccines. I'm pretty sure that is all I got.

Does anyone have the link to a list that shows something similar in the link above but also includes vaccines that get pulled, etc? Someone posted one about 2 years ago and I lost the link when my drive crashed. I have really wanted to re-read it.

I have the same question except I was born in 72, and theres a chance my mom still has my record somewhere. Said she had it and thought she gave it to me (she didnt) so Im hoping for it still. I dont recall actually getting any shots so believe I only had some as a baby or toddler (DTP and oral polio I'm guessing - still not sure about MMR or components thereof), whatever I had or whenever, I don't remember it but I do recall being terrified of the doctor and I remember one day in particular I thought I had a really good hiding place (closet in my house) but she found me! (to take me to the dr!)

Regarding the timeline, although it mentions when particular vaccines were "licensed" I was under the impression, they were still not mandated or routinely used until many years later. It does not list those years. I don't think the fact it was licensed in a particular year means that all children started getting them immediately. Someone more knowledgeable please share your wisdom lol I've been wondering this myself for a long time.

I did bookmark a site that compares 1983 (DTP, MMR, and oral polio) to 2007

a little OT -

You kids are right around the same age as my own kids!

I don't have their shot records with me though. They got some of what was on the market but not all. I was a relaxed mom where going to the doc was concerned.

I just talked to my own mom yesterday about all the vaccines they inject into kids now and she of course can't see a reason for them other than money. She's a clever old gal at 88!! And doing just fine without vaccines.

ok. carry on....

Ok Gitti, should we just call you "mom?" lol (my grandma is also 88!)

Oh, and I too had chicken pox as a young baby - not as young as the OP of course! But I survived it with no memories or ill long-lasting effects but according to my mom I guess it was worse for me than for my older siblings who brought it home from school. However, I was a formula fed baby -no breastmilk ever (which is supposed to lessen severity in babies who get it)
